The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of results for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) conducted for private candidates.
The examination took place between October 27 and December 20, 2023.
In a statement signed by the Acting Head of the Public Affairs Department, Moyosore Adesina, WAEC revealed that 85,600 candidates registered for the examination.
Out of the 85,600, 80,904 candidates sat for the exams across 568 centers in the country.

The gender distribution among candidates shows that 49.18 percent (39,790) were males, while 50.82 percent (41,114) were females.
About 96.93 percent (78,419 candidates) have had their results fully processed and released.
However, 3.07 percent (2,485 candidates) are still awaiting the processing of a few subjects due to errors traceable to them.
WAEC also reported that the results of 8.89 percent (7,192 candidates) are being withheld due to alleged infractions committed during the examination.
It said:
“A total of 78,419 candidates, representing 96.93 per cent have their results fully processed and released while 2,485 candidates, representing 3.07 per cent have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors traceable to them.”
