WAFCON 2024 begins in Morocco on July 5, and this Wednesday CAF will reveal a brand-new trophy for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe has stressed the need to boost the women’s game, and the new trophy fits right into his big plan for real progress in African football.
It also pays tribute to past winners and gives the tournament a fresh new look.
Historically, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have led the way with nine titles, Equatorial Guinea has two, and South Africa’s Banyana Banyana claimed their first in the last edition.

So, introducing this updated prize highlights how women’s football has grown and builds hype for what should be a thrilling contest.
Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses will play Zambia’s Copper Queens in the first game of the championships, which will run from July 5 to July 26.
Furthermore, to promote the competition, the new WAFCON 2024 trophy is unveiled soon before the first game.
