Qatar 2022: Wales Manager, Rob Page Signs New Deal
Wales Manager, Rob Page has signed a New Deal ahead of after helping them qualify for their first World Cup in Qatar

Rob Page led Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years, with his team in the same group as England, United States and Iran in Qatar.

Page also oversaw running Wales to the round of 16 at Euro 2020 and promotions in the nation league

Rob Page’s previous contract will end this winter.

Rob Page has been rewarded for his good work as Wales manager with a new four -year contract.

The former defender, who won 41 caps for Wales, took over his country temporarily when former manager Ryan Giggs was arrested in November 2020.

Page then resumed a full time role with a contract until the end of the 2022 World Cup, when Giggs resigned in June 2022.

Page has enjoyed productive time and brought Wales to qualifications for this winter World Cup with a 1-0 win over Ukraine in the play-offs in June.

Wales will compete in the tournament for the first time in 64 years, and are in the same group as Britain, United States and Iran.

Page, who previously served as U21 Wales Manager and Giggs Assistant – also brought Wales to the last 16 at Euro 2020, as well as promotions to the top level of the nation -nation.

After signing his new agreement, Page said:

“There is no greater honor than training your national team and I can’t wait for the challenges to be brought by the next four years, starting with our first World Cup in 64 years.

“This is a pleasant time for Welsh football and I hope we can make this country proud in November and continue our success by qualifying for more major tournaments in the future.”

President of the Wales Football Association (FAW), Steve Williams added:

“I am happy that Rob and Faw have agreed to a four -year contract to bring the national team of Cymru men’s team to the next stage.

“The World Cup is the perfect opportunity to show Wales on the world stage and I am sure that Rob is the best person for that role, in Qatar and so on.”

Wales next game is in the Nation League against Belgium in Brussels on September 22 and Poland in Cardiff on September 25.
