Warri South West Legislative Arm Passes Incentives, Girl Child Education Bills | Daily Report Nigeria

The Legislative Arm of the Warri South West Local Government Area has passed two bills geared towards improving education in the Council area.

The bills include the Enforcement of Primary Education on the Girl Child in Warri South West Local Government Council 2023 and the Establishment of Annual Incentives for Learning Materials , Warri South West Local Government Council 2023.

Both bills were sponsored by Leader of the House, Emiko Odin-Etuwewe.

According to Emiko, the ‘feat for the 6th Assembly is massive and it seeks to delete illiteracy on Girl Child and encourage Primary School Pupils in the Local Government Council Area.’

The timely bills scaled through third reading and were simultaneously passed following a unanimous adoption by members of the house.

The twin bills were first read on the floor of the Legislative House on March 23, 2023 for hearing.

A plenary session scheduled for it on the 19th of May 2023; and Committed to an Ad-hoc Committee led to a first ever Public Hearing in the history of the Council Legislature on June 2, 2023.

Highlight of the Legislative House as she resumed plenary in the third quarter of the year was the rigorous amendments during the Consideration of the aforementioned bills in the Committe of the Whole House after the presentation of committee report on the Bills.
