Wayne Rooney Bounces Back from Concern Over Appearance

Former Manchester United star, Wayne Rooney has been spotted in high spirits at Turf Moor, leading Plymouth Argyle against Burnley in the Championship.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the development came just days after concerns were raised over Rooney’s appearance.

The 38-year-old faced worries from fans after his gaunt look during Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

A supporter said on X:
“He looks really bad.”

However, the Plymouth Argyle boss seems to have shrugged off the worries, displaying his trademark enthusiasm on the touchline.

Rooney’s recent success on the pitch has lifted spirits, with Argyle securing two wins from their last four league games, boosting their survival bid. The team currently sits 16th in the division.

In a recent interview, Rooney acknowledged struggling with weight gain since retiring, admitting he had only one suit that fit him.

He previously opened up about his fight to maintain fitness during his playing career.

Rooney said in his 2012 book My Decade In The Premier League:

“I’m like most blokes, I put on a few pounds after a holiday.

“Even if I don’t train for a week, I put on two or three.”
