We Are Unable to Authenticate Tinubu’s Certificate – Chicago State University

Caleb Westberg, the registrar of Chicago State University (CSU), has stated that the institution cannot verify the authenticity of the certificate presented by President Bola Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the 2023 general elections.

Westberg made the statement during a deposition that lasted approximately 5.5 hours on Tuesday in Chicago.

Tinubu’s certificate, dated June 22, 1979, and submitted to INEC on June 17, 2022, was not issued by CSU, according to Westberg.

He also stated that Tinubu never applied for a replacement certificate nor was he ever issued one.

Federal district judge, Nancy Maldonado granted a final order for CSU administrators to turn over all documents relating to Tinubu to the school and sit down for deposition by an adversarial team of lawyers deployed by Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.

Recall that the school had earlier claimed that Tinubu was its student who was admitted in 1977 and graduated in 1979.
