The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has confirmed the unfortunate death of popular Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope.
Junior Pope and three of his colleagues were returning from shooting a movie when their boat capsized in a river in Anambra State.
The AGN’s National President, Emeka Rollas shared the development on his Instagram page.
Rollas explained that despite efforts by two hospitals to revive him, Junior Pope could not be saved.

He added that while one of the deceased has been identified, the search continues for the other three.
Rollas said:
“It is so so sad that our joy was short-lived.
“My first post was out of excitement when we noticed his tingling fingers.
“Two notable hospitals tried their best to revive him but to no avail. God knows the best. We finally lost him.
“Mr Friday’s corpse has been identified but three other corpses are yet to be found.’’
The Late Actor started his acting career in 2006 and appeared in over 150 Nollywood movies.
He was known for playing roles such as a bodyguard, palace attendant, and servant in movies and also played villainous characters such as a criminal, armed robber, militant, and hitman.
His talent and hard work earned him several awards including Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs), and Best Actor of the Year at the Africa Movie Academy Awards(AMAAs).
