Former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has attacked his political ally and leader, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, over who will be the state’s next governor.

Aregbesola, the current Minister of Interior, addressed the All Progressives Congress, APC, faithful and stakeholders in Ijebu Ijesa ahead of the party’s governorship primary.

During his speech to the crowd, Aregbesola referred to the incumbent Governor and his successor, Gboyega Oyetola, as the most “useless and corrupt governor in the history of the state.”

The minister stated unequivocally that Oyetola would not be allowed to run for re-election in 2019, as former Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was.

Although Aregbesola did not directly name Tinubu, he did launch some verbal attacks on the APC National Leader in relation to the political situation in Osun.

He claimed Tinubu abused his authority and developed a god complex.

“With all our might, we followed and served this leader.” In fact, our devotion to him had led some to question whether we were still Muslims,” he explained.

“But we were with him and served him in accordance with our forefathers’ admonition, who said that when serving anyone, we should do so with sincerity and loyalty; that if you regard anyone as your principal, you must serve him wholeheartedly.”

Unfortunately, we didn’t realize that while we wished him well, he didn’t think well of us.

“However, because we elevated him above where he should be, he began to believe he is our god.

Unfortunately for him, we had sworn to God that whoever compares himself to him, we would beg Him to bring him down.
