Queen Elizabeth’s funeral will take place on Monday, September 19.

The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be held on Monday, September 19 at Westminster Abbey at 11 am, the Royal Palace has announced.

This means that all horse racing, which is the only big sport in the UK that will occur on that date, has been postponed.

Government advice for the sports agency states that “as a sign of respect, the organization may want to consider canceling or postpone the event or closing place on the State Funeral Day”.
