Why Ameachi Boycotted Tinubu’s Inauguration
Rotimi Amaechi, a top-ranking member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was not present at the inauguration of former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu’s inauguration as Nigeria’s 16th President took place on Monday at Eagle Square in Abuja.
However, it was surprising to many Nigerians that the former Minister of Transportation was not in attendance.

Instead, he was seen at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Abia State alongside other dignitaries at the inauguration of the Labour Party’s Governor, Alex Otti.

Amaechi’s absence at the inauguration has raised eyebrows, especially considering his previous role in Buhari’s administration as a two-term member.
According to reports, Amaechi did not attend any of Tinubu’s rallies during the six-month campaign period, despite being a member of the APC.

The inauguration of Tinubu was attended by African leaders including South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa, Prime Minister of Gabon Billy By-Nze, President of the Republic of Cote D’Ivoire Alassane Ouattara, Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo, Rwanda President Paul Kagame, amongst others.
