President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained that the prevailing mood in the country influenced his decision to mark his 74th birthday quietly.
In a personally signed message on Sunday, the President expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their goodwill and continued support for his administration.

“Today, as I clock another year… I’m filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation,” he said.
Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices made since the introduction of his administration’s reforms, noting that early signs of progress were beginning to emerge.

“I’m glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel,” he stated.
He, however, admitted that ongoing global challenges, including the Middle East crisis, had created temporary setbacks.
The President thanked key figures, including First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, for their support and kind words.
Reaffirming his commitment to national development, Tinubu said the gains recorded so far were a collective effort.
“The credit for the positive outcomes… does not belong solely to me… We achieved the gains together,” he said.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in the future of the country, urging citizens to remain united.
“Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation,” Tinubu added.
