A Ghanaian cleric, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has suggested that marriage should be contractual to enable people to walk out when it feels unbearable.
Prophet Kumchaha stated this on the Bribi Gye Gye Wo show on Onua TV with host Mona Gucci while contributing to a discussion on the reports indicating that late Sister Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, has been sentenced to death by hanging after he was found guilty of murdering his wife.
He said:
“If I had the opportunity, I would plead with God to make marriage contractual. It should be limited to a five-year term subject to renewal.”

He emphasised that marriage should be contractual and a law should be enacted in Ghana so that men who rape women or engage in incest are castrated.
The clergyman averred that this type of law will stop the foolishness of people who plan to engage in practices such as incest.
“It is foolishness to engage in incest. What at all will make one engage in incest, having sex with your own child. We need a law that will say we should castrate men who sleep with their own children,” he again said.
