A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kola Olagbondiyan has disclosed how Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike almost suffered a heart attack over the defection of former Speaker of the House of the Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Ologbondiyan, a Former National Publicity Secretary stated this while reacting to speculations that Wike might be considering leaving the party over the main opposition internal crisis.
The PDP chieftain who spoke when he Featured on Arise TV on Friday morning, described the River Governor as a party man, who is not considering dumping the party following the outcome of the party’s national convention in May.

He said: “I always tell people about this. When the former Speaker, Honourable Yakubu Dogara left the Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Wike nearly suffered heart-attack. That is love, that is passion for your political party,”
“People who are saying that Governor Wike will leave the party I do not believe they have the understanding of Governor Wike.
“Governor Wike declared that notwithstanding whosoever emerges as the candidate, he remains a party man. But you cannot see a man who has a complain and you say he shouldn’t complain.

“He has the rights. If he believes as a member of the party and a pillar of the party that he is, if he believes that things have not been done well [he should be listened to.
