On Monday, a magistrate court in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, sentenced a woman, Omoyeni Opeyemi, a widow, to three and a half years in prison for brutalizing a 12-year-old boy, Joel Sunday, who was her housemaid.
The convict was apprehended by men from the state police command after she used sticks and razor blades to inflict multiple injuries on the victim’s body in Akure’s Adebowale neighborhood.
A viral video also showed the 12-year-old boy crying with marks on his body indicating that he had been lacerated with a razor blade and that blood was on his body.

The 36-year-old widow was arraigned in court on a five-count charge of attempted murder, child abuse, and violence against a person, among other things.
Mrs. O.A Edwin, the Magistrate, ruled that the defendant was guilty of counts one, four, and five. She, on the other hand, struck out on count four.
