Aisha Aliyu, a 20-year-old newlywed, allegedly killed her husband, Idris Ahmadu, in Nasarawa village, located in the Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State.
The tragic incident occurred around 1 am on Monday, February 12, 2024.
According to multiple sources, Aliyu and Ahmadu had tied the knot on December 31, 2023.
Earlier that evening, the couple had a minor disagreement, which they resolved before retiring for the night.

However, around midnight, the mother of the deceased heard him screaming.
Rushing to the scene, she found him lying in a pool of blood. He had attempted to flee the room but collapsed at the doorstep.
The wife had allegedly stabbed him in the chest before ultimately taking his life.
Regarding the nature of their union, sources revealed that the couple had been in a relationship for several years.
Although the suspect initially displayed reluctance to proceed with the marriage, they eventually resolved their differences.
Little did anyone know that she harbored other intentions. She later revealed that she had a new suitor in mind.
The Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the tragic incident and said:
“Today, on February 12, 2024 (Monday), around 12:00 p.m., information was received that in the early hours, Idris Ahmadu of Nasarawa village, via Lapai, was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu.
“The suspect fled the scene before the police arrived, and efforts are underway to apprehend her. The case is currently under investigation.”
