The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Friday night hosted the group of five governors (G-5) seeking justice and fairness in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a state banquet.

The Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu; Benue, Samuel Ortom and Oyo, Seyi Makinde were present to lead the campaign flag-off of the state governorship campaign scheduled to hold on Saturday.

The banquet paraded the display of Rivers’ rich cultural performances. It also had cultural troupes from other states like Abia perform to entertain the guests.

Four of the governors were dressed in blue kaftan uniforms with black hats to match the banquet designed to precede the campaign inauguration

The G-5 governors, who were insisting that Dr Iyorchia Ayu must vacate his office for genuine reconciliation in the party have resorted to organising their events separate from the national leadership of the party.

Reports held that there was no extended invitation to both Ayu, the party’s Presidential Candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and other members of the PDP Working Committee to attend the Rivers campaign flag-off.

Recall that the G-5 governors and their friends recently led the governorship campaign inauguration in Benue State.
