The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged that ongoing construction of new court complexes across Abuja will significantly improve justice delivery in the FCT.
Wike made the statement on Friday while inspecting High Court and Magistrate Court projects in Asokoro, Jabi and Garki. He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, particularly at the Garki site where construction has reached an advanced stage.

The minister acknowledged the challenging terrain in Asokoro but assured that the obstacles would be overcome. He added that contractors have promised to complete and hand over the projects before the end of June 2026.
Wike stressed that strengthening the judiciary is as important as investing in roads, schools and healthcare facilities, noting that effective justice delivery is essential to good governance and democratic dividends.
He further stated that providing adequate courtrooms and befitting facilities for judicial officers would help reduce case backlog and boost public confidence in the justice system.
The FCT Administration, he said, remains committed to balanced sectoral development to ensure residents benefit from improved infrastructure and stronger institutions.
