American rapper, G Herbo has agreed to plead guilty to wire fraud and lying to federal agents.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that G Herbo was indicted by a federal grand jury in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2020.

Along with five associates, including promotor Antonio Strong, G Herbo was accused of using stolen identities to accumulate up to $1.5 million in fraudulent charges.

The charges included private jet excursions, a trip to a villa in Jamaica, and the purchase of “designer puppies.”

Reports held that the plea deal was awaiting approval from the judge, and G Herbo was expected to formally plead guilty in July.

He was faced with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, but court records suggested he may receive a lower sentence, potentially probation.

The plea agreement made public on Wednesday read:

Wright used the proceeds of these frauds to travel to various concert venues and to advance his career by posting photographs and/or videos of himself on the private jets, in the exotic cars, and at the Jamaican villa.

“In addition, Wright helped Strong obtain designer puppies from a business by falsely representing to the business that Wright was the actual purchaser of the puppies and by concealing Strong’s actual identity from the business.”

In November 2018, Wright lied to a U S federal agent about his relationship with the accused rap promoter.

Despite claiming to have never received anything of value from the promoter, evidence showed that since 2016, Wright had received exotic car rentals, private jet charters, and other valuable goods from Strong.

Phone conversations, text messages, and Instagram messages confirm their frequent contact.

As part of the plea agreement, Wright will pay $140,000 in restitution to alleged victims, including $10,458 to Woof Woof Puppies in Michigan.
