Maduka Okoye, Sparta Rotterdam’s goalkeeper is at risk of being dropped against Central African Republic in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The 22 year old has failed to appear at the training session of the Super Eagles in advance of Thursday match.

The German-born was the only player (out of the 23 of them) found unavailable at the team’s first training at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Senior men including Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon, who joined the team on Tuesday, were also said to be part of the training session.

Okoye, who featured for his team on Sunday has conceded goals in each of the 9 consecutive games this season following another defeat to PSV.

Despite starting nine of the last ten matches played by the Super Eagles, may be withdrawn from the starting eleven if Gernot Rohr was to take today’s training into account.

Meanwhile, Rohr while awaiting Okoye’s arrival has selected Francis Uzoho as his first goal-keeper and Daniel Akpeyi the 2nd.
