The legendary Mexican wrestler, Rey Misterio Sr., has died.

The Mexican wrestler died on Friday December 20, 2024, at 66.

His death was announced by his son, El Hijo de Rey Mysterio in a statement issued on his Instagram page.

“You did more than set the example of how to love, maintain a strong marriage and father four boys until your death with flying colors.

“You are with God now and smiling from the heavens while we continue with the real struggle of life until we see each other again. Will always be loved, RIP Pops,” the statement said.

The cause of his death has not been officially disclosed.

Mysterio, born Miguel Ángel López Díaz, was uncle to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.
