In a recent press conference, Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso addressed speculation surrounding his future in the Bundesliga amidst rumors linking him to Bayern Munich or Liverpool.
With Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel both slated to depart their respective clubs at the end of the season, Alonso’s name has been tossed into the mix as a potential successor.
Despite being on the cusp of securing the Bundesliga title in his debut season with Leverkusen, Alonso remained tight-lipped about his plans. When questioned by reporters about his next career move, the Spanish tactician opted to keep his cards close to his chest.
Xabi Alonso said:
“Bayern, Liverpool? I have nothing new to say.
“Right now, I’m Bayer Leverkusen’s coach and that’s certain. Regarding the future, I have nothing new to say.
“Call received from Bayern? That’s only hypothetical, again — I have nothing new to say”.
