“Asake Suffered” – Yemi Elesho Clarifies Asake’s Alleged Disconnect from Old Friends

Yemi Elesho, a popular skit maker, has leveled an accusation against singer Asake, claiming that Asake has stopped responding to messages from his old friends.

Elesho, who attended the same university as Asake, alleged that the singer struggled to afford accommodation during his four years at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and relied on the generosity of friends to provide shelter.

According to Elesho, since attaining fame, Asake has distanced himself from his old friends due to his newfound lifestyle. However, Elesho acknowledged that it’s understandable for Asake to prioritize certain friendships over others, given his elevated status.

In a recent interview with Echo Room, Elesho remarked:

“Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply to their messages but it’s a natural thing, he can’t carry everybody along.”

Asake gained prominence after signing with YBNL Nation in February 2022, releasing his debut extended play, “Ololade,” which included the breakout hit “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide, as well as the single “Sungba.”
