A 35-year-old woman from Garin Abba village in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State has allegedly killed her husband during a domestic dispute over food.
The suspect, identified as Hadiza Mamuda, reportedly struck her husband with a piece of wood during a heated exchange, which led to his death.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said investigations are ongoing and the suspect will soon face charges in court.
“Investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court subsequently. The victim, a polygamous husband with two wives and five children, including the accused, leaves behind a grieving family,” the statement read.
The State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, expressed concern over rising domestic violence cases and stressed the importance of proactive community efforts to address such incidents.
He called on religious and community leaders to step up awareness campaigns against domestic abuse.
“The Command remains committed to maintaining security and safety for all citizens,” the commissioner added.
