Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has opened up about his ongoing lone protest demanding justice for late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. In a conversation with Sunday Scoop, Fabiyi said recent developments in the singer’s case motivated him to persist.
He revealed that new evidence, including a video clip and chat records that emerged around December 2024, could provide important insights into Mohbad’s untimely death. However, Fabiyi alleged that these leads are not being properly investigated.

“There is fresh evidence from December 2024 involving a video and chat records. Unfortunately, this evidence is being mishandled by the Lagos State Police Command. Certain key suspects appear to be shielded from investigation by people claiming connections with the presidency. We are urging the Federal Government and the police headquarters to intervene and ensure genuine justice for Mohbad and the public,” Fabiyi said.
The actor emphasized that his protest is motivated solely by the pursuit of justice and not personal gain. He noted that his NGO has been leading the campaign with minimal external support.
“I do not benefit financially from this. Mohbad’s case is significant, and through our NGO, we are pushing for justice alongside his family and close friends, mostly without public assistance. He had the right to life, which was unjustly taken,” Fabiyi explained.
He added that his unwavering effort is fueled by the desire to ensure that those responsible for the singer’s death are properly investigated and held accountable.
