Aisha Yesufu, human rights activist, has told comedienne Taaooma, she needs not apologise for meeting Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
Taaooma was among a delegation of comedians who visited Osinbajo under the aegis of the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards (NSIA) at the presidential villa on Wednesday.
The visit had led to heated discussion on social media platforms, as many Nigerians called out all the skit makers that honoured the invitation.
Amid criticism, Taaooma tendered apologises for being part of the delegation.

But in a Twitter post, Aisha, co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement, said the Taaooma did nothing wrong to warrant her earlier apology.
“Dear @_Taaooma. You do not need to apologise to anyone! You did not do anything wrong by having a meeting with the VP. There are different ways of achieving something,” she wrote
“It is never one way and it is okay whatever way one chooses. Intentions are what count and you know yours!
“Remember the Prophet (SAW) said Actions are judged according to intentions and that is all that matters. Your intentions are what should matter to you. What people think or say must never matter. What we feel alone with our thoughts is what should matter the most.”
Aisha asked people to stop “fighting themselves” over issues bordering on involvement in democratic process and think about how to improve the system.
“Have you ever seen politicians fighting themselves when any of them associate with you? Stop majoring in the minor! Focus on the work ahead. Get 50% youth into the legislative arm of government and begin to call the shots!”
