Senator Ben Bruce has slammed the Nigerian elite for allegedly abandoning Nigerians who have been trapped in the Ukraine-Russia War.
The business mogul and former senator on Tuesday night billionaires questioned private jets owners and political aspirants their contributions so far to the evacuation of their fellow nationals in war-torn Ukraine.
Bruce observed that a good number of Nigerian private jet owners had fueled their plane to carry their girlfriends to chosen locations around the world but have failed to evacuate Nigerian citizens in Ukraine most of whom are students.
He said:
“This crisis in Ukraine has lingered with Nigerian citizens unable to find a solution,” the former lawmaker said. “I have a question for our billionaires and those aspiring for elective office.
“How many of you have fueled your private jets and sent them to neighboring countries around Ukraine to help evacuate Nigerians’ homes? None!
“But how many of you have fueled the same to carry your girlfriends to Harrods and fancy unnecessary races in Monaco? A number of you. Search your conscience and be a useful and genuinely charitable Nigerian for once.”
