‘You won’t Believe’: Shallipopi Reveals how he got his stage name

Shallipopi shared in a recent interview with British media personality Madame Joyce how got his stage name.

He said that his stage name was inspired by the 1994 Chinese kung fu comedy film, Shaolin Popey.

He revealed that before deciding on Shallipopi, he experimented with using his birth name, Crown, and nicknames like Drip Face.

He further explained that he came across the movie by accident while growing up when his mom bought what they thought was a Tom And Jerry CD, only to discover it was Shaolin Popey when they played it on their DVD player.

Elon Musk Boys crooner said:

“I was looking for [stage] name, so I was like let me coin something from the movie Shaolin Popey, that’s how I came up with my nickname,” he said.
