An 18-year-old bus conductor in Oshodi, Lagos State has revealed that gold can indeed come out of dirt as he emerges chess champion and mental sum winner.
Adeoye Fawaz, a bus conductor who has reportedly spent years of his life living under the Oshodi bridge has shown the world what he is capable of as he emerges overall chess and mental maths champion at a competition held in Oshodi, Lagos.

The program, Chess in Slums Initiative is a non-governmental organization dedicated to showing the world what young people who live in the slums are capable of.
Adeoye formerly stated that he aspired to be a comedian and musician, but currently works as a bus conductor.
Fawaz’s life is about to change, as, alongside the prizes he won, donations are also trooping in to support his education and that of his fellow contestants.
Reacting to this, the Founder of StemHub, Dr. Adeola Olubamiji has expressed her joy, as she donates the sum of two hundred thousand naira in addition to the cash reward and other prizes he has received.
She tweeted;
“I would like to send him 200K prize. If he ever needs support, my husband was a chess champion from Mushin and represented Nigeria in international competitions. He attended OAU & Yaba Tech on scholarships. We can support him with what we can. Let’s get him off the streets!”
