Young Woman Found Dead in Bayelsa Hotel

  • A young woman’s lifeless body was discovered in a hotel in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

  • The deceased had checked into the hotel with a young man suspected to be an internet fraudster, who left the premises shortly after.

A young woman’s lifeless body was discovered in a hotel in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

According to community sources, the deceased had checked into the hotel with a young man suspected to be an internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a ‘Yahoo boy’.

The man reportedly left the premises shortly after, leaving the woman behind. The hotel manager found the body and immediately reported the incident to the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters. A source said:

“She lodged in the hotel with a suspected Yahoo boy who left immediately after. The hotel manager who found the dead body reported the incident to the police at Igbogene.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr. Musa Muhammad, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing. He said:

“We received the report yesterday; though no arrest has been made for now, an investigation is ongoing. We are making serious enquiries to ensure that the culprits are brought to book. Also, an autopsy would be run on the deceased to ascertain the cause of the death.”
