Youth Leaders Reject Abure’s Leadership in Labour Party Crisis | Daily Report Nigeria

In a significant escalation of the ongoing crisis within the Labour Party (LP), the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties (FNYLPP) has publicly disavowed Julius Abure and Kennedy Ahanotu, contesting their legitimacy as the party’s national chairman and national youth leader, respectively.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Forum expressed serious concerns regarding Abure’s leadership tenure, which they claim expired on June 8, 2024.

“Mr. Kennedy Ahanotu, the Deputy National Secretary of the Labour Party, is hereby cautioned to stop presenting himself as the National Youth Leader of the party, or he will face the consequences,” stated Comrade Eragbe Anselm Aphimia, the Forum’s spokesman.

The statement further clarified, “Similarly, Mr. Julius Abure is also warned to cease presenting himself as the National Chairman of the Labour Party for the reasons listed.”

Moreover, the Forum has expressed its support for Dr. Halimat Tejuosho for the role of Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, signaling a shift in allegiances within the party’s ranks.
