Party urges residents to ignore what it calls baseless claims
The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has rejected allegations by the All Progressives Congress that Governor Dauda Lawal is sponsoring bandits in the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Hon Haliru Andi, the PDP described the claim as unfounded and politically motivated, insisting that the APC has no credibility to speak on security matters in Zamfara

According to the statement, APC leaders openly held meetings with bandit commanders and legitimised their activities even as villagers continued to suffer devastating attacks.
Andi maintained that Governor Lawal inherited a broken security architecture but has since moved to restore confidence by equipping security agencies and establishing the Community Protection Guards as a home-grown solution.
The party urged residents to disregard the APC’s claims and stand with the governor, stressing that Lawal remains committed to ending the cycle of violence in Zamfara.
