Residents of Birnin Magaji in Zamfara State have retaliated to terrorists’ attacks by kidnapping their wives.

In an act of retaliation to the relentless attacks by terrorists in their community, the residents abducted the wives of terrorists, including a pregnant woman.

The decision, they said, was taken to send a strong message to the perpetrators and to protect themselves from further harm.

The residents, who have been living in fear, were forced to abandon their farms and even their homes due to the constant threat of abduction.

The youth leader (name withheld) said:

“The bandits invaded the farm and threatened the farmers before they took them away.

“These days many people here cannot go to the farm and even in our homes; we are afraid they could come and abduct us for ransom.”

The abduction of the terrorists’ wives comes amidst a disturbing wave of terrorist attacks in Zamfara State.

In August, at least 80 children were kidnapped by terrorists in the Tsafe Local Government Area.
