Zamfara Speaker’s Father Dies in Kidnappers Den | Daily Report Nigeria

Alhaji Abubakar, father of the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Magarya has reportedly in the den of his abductors.

Alhaji Abubakar, the District Head of Magarya village was kidnapped by bandits eight weeks ago along with his wife, three weeks old baby and three others.

While the other victims were rescued by the police on Saturday, Abubakar was left out.

Malam Dahiru Magarya, elder brother to the District Head told newsmen that Abubakar died of a heart attack while being held hostage by the bandits.

“One of the bandits’ kingpins popularly known as Kachalla informed me that my brother died due to heart failure while in captivity. We were separated when they kidnapped us, they took my brother to another camp but it was Kachalla, one of the commanders of the bandits that told me about the death of my brother which was a result of a heart attack hours before our rescue,” he said.

Hauwa’u Magarya, a wife to the deceased who was also a victim of the kidnappers together with her 3-months-old baby revealed thay she also learnt of her late husband’s death from their abductors.

“I heard them say my husband has died and I was shocked but I submitted everything to Almighty God.”

The Zamfara State Government as well as the Zamfara Police Command were yet to comment on the incident.

In another story, kidnapped Air Vice-Marshal Siriku Smith (retired) who was abducted on Monday last week has been released.

The retired Air Force General was abducted during a site inspection in Ajah, Lagos State.
