Zenith Bank Fails to Refund Customer's N100,000

Zenith Bank has allegedly failed to refund oN100,000 stolen from a customer’s account.

James Nnorom, a Lagos State resident explained how N100,000 was debited from his Zenith Bank account without his consent.

Nnorom said:

On that day, I discovered that the sum of N50,000 was stolen twice, and in quick succession from my account, and moved into two separate accounts; one, a PAGA account with no recognisable account name, and the other, an OPAY account with the account name Daniel Olamide Dada.”

He said:

“I have been frequenting that particular branch but nothing positive has come out of my visit. I have visited more than seven times.

“I, also, never compromised my account details before the fraud was perpetrated. I don’t even share my debit card details with anyone. This is really disappointing. In Nigeria we live now, N100,000 is a lot of money.

“It’s been over a month since the money was stolen from my account and there’s still no solution in sight from the bank.”

It was learned that despite the customer reporting the theft immediately and providing evidence of the unauthorized transaction, the bank has refused to take responsibility for the loss.

However, Foundation for Investigative Journalism, FIJ reports that the Zenith Bank’s customer care desk was yet to speak on the incident.
