Former ex-President Goodluck Jonathan aide, Doyin Okupe has advised the ruling All Progressives Congress to zone its presidential ticket to the South.

Okupe stated this while declaring his intention to run for the presidential seat in 2023.

“I, Dr Doyin Okupe, Nigerian, PDP Stalwart and Presidential aspirant on my own behalf and on behalf of my family, wholeheartedly congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Buni and his team, and the entire APC members throughout the federation on the extraordinarily successful convention held at Eagle Square on the 26th and 27th of March 2022,” he said.

“If the truth be told, this successful outcome defied the expectations of many Nigerians, including myself, and even some APC members. I am pleased to see that the president has finally thrown his weight behind peace efforts and has politically capitalized on the respect that many APC leaders have for him.

“I will enjoin the APC leadership to continue on the path of righteousness and justice by electing a southern candidate in its presidential primaries.”

I am not a member of APC and will never be. However, as a major stakeholder in the Nigerian project and the quest for national rebirth, I will lend my support to any political party that takes commendable steps.

“I recognize that the APC has just taken one of these steps, and I heartily congratulate them.” In Jesus’ mighty name, may God continue to guide our leaders and political elites on all platforms to do what is right, just, and equitable at all times. My name is Dr. Doyin Okupe. “I intend to run for President.”
