A married woman, identified as Funmilola Osundare has been hospitalized after her alleged ritualist boyfriend reportedly macheted her in Akure.

The sad news occurred at the boyfriend’s rented apartment in ljapo, GRA, Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Reports have it that the woman was rescued by neighbours who heard her outcries.

It was said that she sustained various degrees of cuts on different parts of her body during the attack.

The footballer-boyfriend had invited the victim to his new apartment which he moved into three days ago.

Sources noted that the attack happened around midnight but her distress call attracted the neighbours adding that the suspect fled when they alerted the regional security personnel, Amotekun.

The victim was rushed thereafter to the Police Clinic for treatment but was rejected and referred to the University of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital, Akure.

Executive Secretary of the State Agency Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (OSAA-GBV), Bar. Mrs. Bola Joel-Ogundadegbe said she notified the First Lady, Chief Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu of the incident after she was informed by the police.
