Osun Guber: Police Warn Against Unauthorised Campaigns

Gunmen Attack Police Station, Kill 4 Officers in Anambra

Ahead of the July 16, 2022 Osun governorship election, the Osun State Police Command has urged political parties to desist from organizing unauthorized campaign and procession.

In a press statement issued by Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, any procession must be duly approved by the police.

The statement read: “This is to avoid a clash, as well as to ensure provision of adequate security for such a rally/campaign/procession, as thugs/ hoodlums may use these as an opportunity to disguise/hijack it, to perpetrate their nefarious acts.

“The CP solicits for the understanding and cooperation of all political parties and also requests strong synergy between the police and members of the public, in order to sustain the peaceful and serene environment currently being enjoyed in the State,”
