2 Die, 4 Injured as Church Building Collapsed in Osun

Two worshippers have been confirmed dead after a church building in the Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State collapsed.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the incident also left four others critically injured.

The tragic incident reportedly occured I’m the Ewera area of the community at about 6:45 pm on Wednesday.

The owner of the building is reported to be among the victims killed by the collapse.

Dapo, a resident of the area, Dayo told newsmen that four site workers were left trapped under the rubble before other residents in the neighbourhood rescued them from the debris.

The incident was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Mrs Kehinde Adeleke, who said;

“A storey building being used as a church collapsed on Wednesday at exactly 6:45 PM. The building is still under construction as workers were still working at the time the building collapsed.

“Two women died this morning, one of them is the owner of the building. Four people who were trapped under the debris are receiving treatment in hospital. All of them are in critical condition.”
