From insights just gathered, heavy gunshots on Thursday, December 3, rocked the venue of the National Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja.

NANS, the umbrella body of tertiary institution students in Nigeria, is learnt to currently holding a convention to elect new set of national leaders.

Not less than 20 students reportedly sustained wounds from machete and gunshots fired by suspected thugs loyal to a factional coordinator of the association in Zone D (Southwest).

An anonymous witness disclosed;

“They have stopped accreditation already, you know we have factions in Zone D. If you see the boys one of the coordinators brought to the convention ground, even the DSS ran away.”
