Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and former chairman of Forte Oil PLC, Femi Otedola has promised to give the Super Eagles group a sum of $250,000.

However, there is a condition attached before the Nigerian national football team can be entitled to such a gigantic amount of reward.

The founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd clarified that Augustine Eguavoen’s men will clinch the $250,000 if they could emerge victors in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Otedola’s made the vow through the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele while addressing Coalition Against COVID-19, CACOVID during a visit to Cameroon.

In addition to the $250,000 from Otedola, CACOVID also vowed to compensate the Eagles with $120,000 for the six goals they scored in the group stage i.e $20,000 per goal.

However, the Eagles with their outstanding display during the group stage won over the organization which was launched on the 26th of March, 2020.

The private sector-led organization assisting in combating Covid-19 in Nigeria has therefore, stepped up the recompense from $20,000 to $50,000 per goal at the knockout stage.
