Senegal forward, Sadio Mane has been rushed to hospital after helping his side to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Liverpool winger was reported to have sustained a concussion while on international as Senegal beat Cape Verde 2-0 on Tuesday, 25th.
The former Southampton star got his side’s head in front in the 63rd minute at Stade Kouekong in the round of 16 of the AFCON.
Prior to that, Mane was seen writhing in pain on the pitch following a slight knock.
Blue Sharks were in a tight spot against Aliou Cissé’s men after being reduced to ten-man in the 21st minute of the game.
Yet, the Lions of Teranga could not seize the opportunity to take a lead till the second half after Cape Verde’s goalkeeper, Vozinha received another red card in the six minutes before Mane’s goal.

Vozinha was sent off by the Algerian referee, Lahlou Benbraham for a reckless challenge on Mane, who was running through on goal.
Later on, Bamba Dieng doubled Senegal’s lead with a goal in the injury time.
As a precautionary measure, the 29-year-old Senegalese was taken to the nearest hospital after the game.
The Cape Verde shot-stopper with whom Mane was involved in the clash went to check on him at the hospital and both are seen together in the featured image.
