Tunisia national team have declared that their forward, Seifeddine Jaziri has tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday 4th.

Zamalek star becomes the second player of Eagles of Carthage to contract Corona Virus.

The 28-year-old was announced to have been bedridden by such a deadly disease five days to the kick off of the AFCON tournament.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian football federation disclosed that the team’s midfielder, Youssef Msakni had also tested positive on Monday 3rd.

Jaziri was the leading-scorer in December’s Arab Cup that held in Qatar with a tally of four goals which led his side to final stage before they lost 2-0 to Algeria.

Tunisia are not allowed to replace either player as squads were increased from the usual 23 to 28 to cover potential problems with coronaviruses, illnesses, injuries and travel restrictions.

Meanwhile, Tunisia have recorded just only one AFCON trophy and that was 2004 they hosted the tournament.

They reached the semi-finals of the last edition in 2019.

Tunisia will head on Mali in their Group ‘F’ opener next week January 12, before clashing against Mauritania and Gambia.
