Ahead of the 2023 census, the Nigerian Population Commission (NPC) has postponed the training exercise for enumerators.

In a letter in Abuja on Wednesday by its Director of Public Affairs, the NPC said the postponement of the exercise was as a result of emerging issues.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the NPC enumerators training was earlier slated to commence on Thursday April 13, 2023.

The postponement letter, which also charged the public to disregard contrary information, reads;

“The Commission wishes to inform the general public that the LGA-level LGA-LEVEL TRAINING OF SUPERVISORS AND training of Supervisors and Enumerators scheduled to commence tomorrow, 13th. April, 2023 has been postponed due to some emerging issues.

“The new date will be communicated to the public in due course.

“We assure Nigerians that the Commission remains committed to conduct a credible and acceptable 2023 Population and Housing Census and that all preparations are in top gear.

“Consequently, we advise the public to disregard any message contrary to this information. We regret any inconvenience this postponement may have caused the functionaries.”
