2023: Oborevwori Will Win 99.9% Ijaw Votes - Delta Ijaw Youths | Daily Report Nigeria

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been assured of securing 99.9 percent of votes from Ijaws in the state.

This was declared by the Delta Ijaw Youths over the weekend during a consultative visit to the Chairman of Burutu Loca Government Council, Godknows Angele.

According to the youths, Ijaws have resolved to make a statement of intent by delivering all their votes to the Delta Speaker.

The youths had visited Angele to intimate him of their resolution backing the unveiling and adoption of Oborevwori by Ijaw elders earlier in December.

Chairman of the Group, Chief Frank Akiefa, emphatically stressed that the youths will queue behind the elders towards ensuring victory for Oborevwori.

Adding that the PDP was the only party known to the Ijaws, Akiefa said;

“We have come to inform you that Ijaw youths have resolved to deliver what the elders have envisioned, to support and vote in Sheriff Oborevwori as the next governor of Delta State.

“The PDP is the only party known to the Ijaws, and in 2023, we will give all our votes to the party in all the elections.

“Our elders and leaders have spoken and we are ready to execute their declaration in the next election,” Akiefa added.

Also speaking, Pudiya Biakpara, the Coordinator of the youths said the PDP will not just win the votes from Ijaw areas, rather the party will swoop up to 99.9 percent of the votes.

According to Pudiya, the people are willing to repay Governor Ifeanyi Okowa with block votes in appreciation of the pragmatic Leadership in Delta State.

“Ijaws want to make a statement of intent with this election. 99.9 percent of our votes will be for the PDP. That way, Okowa will know that his good works did not go unnoticed.

“Be rest assured that we will deliver our votes from the Presidency to State House of Assemblies to the PDP.”

On his part, Angele said the All Progressive Party and other opposition parties in the state have nothing to offer to Ijaws and Deltans.

The two-time Chairman queried the antecedents of the APC to Deltans in the past, particularly in difficult times.

Citing the recent flood that ravaged coastal communities as an example, Angele said only the PDP has the good of Deltans at heart, hence the need to ensure victory for Oborevwori.

Thanking the youths for the initiative, Angele said the first point of call should be a massive awareness and mobilization for the people to get their PVCs ahead of the election.

He further declared his fervent support to the group’s mandate before and during the elections proper.
