The Peoples Democratic Party has reacted to the alleged sack of its candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District for the 2023 election, Michael Diden.

Reports were rife on Tuesday evening that Ejele was sacked by an Abuja High Court over certificate discrepancies.

The report claimed that the former Delta assembly member was found guilty of forging his West African Senior School Certificate Examination result and his age.

However, in a phone conversation with our correspondent, the Delta South Chairman of the PDP, Julius Take me labeled the report as “fake news.”

Takeme said there was no iota of truth in the report, nothing that though there is a case in court, no judgment has been issued.

“There is not truth in the report. It is a fake news. Yes, there is case in court, but no judgment has been given,” he said.

Michael Diden resigned his position as Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, DESOPADEC, to contest the seat and clinched victory with 176 votes.

He dusted a former Warri Federal Constituency representative, Daniel Reyenieju and Ayodele Oghogho Othihiwa, who scored 49 and 46 votes respectively.
