Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue

Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has clarified claims that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP threw open its presidential ticket for all regions.

Ortom, who made the clarification Wednesday in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP zoning committee did not say the party’s presidential ticket was open to everyone.

The Chairman of the PDP zoning committee said: “I want to clear the insinuation that the zoning committee has thrown open the presidential ticket.

“I did inform the media yesterday (Tuesday, April 5, 2022) that the committee has adopted a unanimous position to be presented to the national executive committee (NEC) of the party. Where did I say that the committee has thrown open the presidential ticket?”
