Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said he would have stepped down if his Kano State counterpart, Abdullahi Ganduje was running for the forthcoming 2023 presidency.
Wike, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential aspirant, stated this while speaking during a courtesy visit to Ganduje in Kano.
While expressing gladness that Ganduje was not in the race, the Rivers state leader urged his Kano State counterpart to support his 2023 Presidential ambition.

Wike said: “If Ganduje is running for the presidency some of us will quickly withdraw our ambitions, but thank God he is not running, and I’m sure he will help me to make it,”
DAILY REPORT NG reported that Ganduje had earlier said Wike would lose if he runs for the Presidency in 2023, but he would be a good loser.
