2023: Wike Blasts Atiku, Says No Votes For Him

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said that the people of Rivers State will not be supporting the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Wike stated this on Monday at the flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Emohua/Abalama/Tema road in Emohua LGA.

According to Wike, the PDP flag bearer insulted the people of Rivers, adding that for tagging the state unsafe, he does not deserve a single vote from the oil-rich state.

He said,

You are addressing Rivers people in Abuja, is that not an insult?

“You cannot come to Rivers State and talk to us. You say Rivers State is not safe, but you want their vote.

“No right thinking Rivers will take that insult.”

Atiku not in presidential race

In a similar development, Smart Adeyemi, the Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly has removed Atiku Abubakar, People Democratic Party’s standard bearer from the race.

Adeyemi stated on Monday that the upcoming presidential election on February 25 was between the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Tinubu and his Labour Party’s counterpart, Peter Obi.

He argued that the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar has no place.

The Senator said;

Why will anybody ask you to vote for Atiku? Was he not in charge of privatisation? Was he not the one who sold out assets to non- performing companies? All those who do not know the history will be shouting Atiku. Atiku is not in the equation.

“I am supporting Asíwájú and Shettima not because they are APC but because of their past records and down contemporary issues in the Nigerian nation.

“We must commend the northern governors for supporting the power shift to the south.”
