The Nigerian Youth Organization, Burutu Chapter has commended the efforts of all youthful aspirants who participated in the just concluded primary elections of political parties.

The group in a statement signed by Comrade Tare Magbei and Comrade Kenneth Odubosatu, Chairman and Publicity Secretary respectively, lauded the youths for displaying strength and character when and where it mattered.

It singled out Julius Pondi, who won the PDP ticket a third consecutive time for Burutu Federal Constituency, for consistently being a ray of hope and torchbearer for other youths with regards to politics in Burutu.

The NYO also described the displays of Justice Akuna (PDP), Pudiya Biakpara (PDP), Enetimi Government(APC), Binebai Desmond(ADC), and Bibobra Tabai (ADC) as a glimpse of hope for youths to take their place in leadership.

It commended the aspirants for going against the tide and paying heed to the Not Too Young to Run Act, and congratulated those who emerged flag bearers of their political parties.

The NYO also called on other youths in the local government council to get involved in electoral contests in the future, highlighting the forthcoming council elections as a good avenue for youths to test their capabilities.

The statement read in part;

“We commend the efforts of Justice Akuna, Pudiya Biakpara, Binebai Desmond, Enetimi Government, Tabai Bibobra, and other youthful aspirants who exercised courage in the just concluded primary elections of political parties in Burutu.

“Our satisfaction in your show of courage cannot be over emphasized. In a local government where youthful representation had always been clamoured for, you made it a point of duty to prove the obvious point that youths are not too young to rule.

“We particularly congratulate Desmond Binebai and Tabai Bibobra as flag bearers of the ADC for Burutu North and South Constituencies. It an obvious offshoot of the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN act.

“This is a good omen for Nigerian democracy as youthful participation in politics experienced astronomical heights all over the country during this period.

“Our heartfelt congratulations extend to Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, the torchbearer for youths in the local government, for remaining consistent in the path of quality and fruitful leadership.

“This is a call to all youths of Burutu, Delta and Nigeria to come out of their shell and take their place in the affairs of leadership. Youths are encouraged join any political party of their choice, in order to be active players not just in politics, but towards changing the narrative on quality representation.”

The NYO further called on youths across the council area to support the candidates in during the general election, and wished them victorious in their respective elections.
