The Zimbabwe national football team has arrived in Nigeria ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Super Eagles.

Their arrival at Victor Attah International Airport was met with a warm reception from officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Currently, Zimbabwe sits at the bottom of Group C with three points from five matches, making the upcoming clash pivotal for both teams.

Super Eagles Return Victorious from Rwanda

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles returned to Nigeria earlier on Friday after securing a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali.

Victor Osimhen’s first-half brace was instrumental in this win, marking Nigeria’s first triumph in the qualifiers after a series of draws and a loss to Benin.

This victory propelled Nigeria to fourth place in Group C with six points, trailing leaders South Africa by four points.

Super Eagles Prepare for Upcoming Match Against Zimbabwe

Following their victory, the Super Eagles have set up camp at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, where they will prepare for their next match.

The team is scheduled for a training session on Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the venue for the upcoming encounter.

With just three points, they will need a strong showing to keep their World Cup dreams alive.
